A Journey of Art, Devotion, and Thoughts of Prashant Desai
Welcome to this humble beginning — a blog dedicated to the creative mind and spiritual heart of my father,
Prashant Ghanshyam~Jamuna Desai.
A thinker, a visionary, and a lifelong devotee of Indian culture, my father has always approached life through the lens of creativity, positivity, and devotion. Born and raised in India, he came to the U.S. in mid-life but never once drifted from his cultural roots. Today, at the age of 65 and enjoying a peaceful retirement in Austin, Texas, he continues to live by the values that shaped him — values of service, spirituality, and harmony.
He defines his own name with a deeper meaning:
Public
Relations
And
Social
Harmony
Always
Need
Tranquility
Devotion is
Essential to
Serve as
Almighty’s
Instrument
A creative artist and a devoted follower of the Shri Bhagavad Gita, he has long explored and expressed divine themes through his writings and artwork. Though much of his literature is written in Gujarati and Hindi, we hope to make it available in English in the future, as it contains timeless wisdom that uplifts and inspires.
His guiding principle has always been: Sanskruti Sarvopari — Culture is Supreme
He believes that only Sanatan Sanskruti, the eternal Indian culture, has the power to unite humanity and establish true peace — tranquility that transcends boundaries. To him, Bhartiy Sanskruti is not just tradition, but a spiritual path leading all souls toward the divine.
From my childhood, I’ve seen how deeply he is connected to Swadhyay, a self-study movement of devotion and introspection. Now, in his retired life, he spends his days creating, sharing, and nurturing that same spirit of bhakti — helping others find devotion in their own hearts.
He doesn’t aim to sell his books. His purpose is much higher. He simply wants to e-publish his work with a message rooted in service: Sahyog-Seva.
Alongside him is my mother, Usha Desai, a homemaker and an exceptional cook, whose love and dedication have been the foundation of our family. Her warmth completes his calm, and their shared life in Austin is filled with joy, service, and simplicity.
This blog is an offering — a space where his thoughts, art, and messages can reach kindred souls. If you’re here, we hope you stay a while. Maybe you’ll find inspiration, maybe connection — or maybe just a moment of stillness in this busy world.
With love,
Kratu Prashant~Usha Desai
